Clockwise walking
Our house is set up so there is a circular path through it. You come in the front door, go straight down the hallway, turn right into the kitchen, walk through the kitchen into the dining room (we use it as a crafts room), turn right to walk into the front room, and then walk straight back to the front hall. This is where we walk when G does her practice walking.
Not long before our last visit to Childrens, I was walking behind Gracie, keeping her company and making sure she was paying attention (as opposed to being out for a 20 minute stroll) when it occurred to me that walking in a clockwise direction would force her to bring her left hip up more often. There are four turns and each time she made the turn she had to bring her left hip forward. I forgot to bring this up to Mary but I am wondering if this is one reason why her walking was so much better.
