Week 38

AT least I think its Week 38. WIll check later to make sure.

The sore feet issue went away on its own. She went back to wearing the knee immobilizer and it worked fine. No getting up at nite.

Saw Mary on Monday - forgot the night brace but thats fine since she isnt having trouble at night. Mary adjusted some of our exercises (my next project is to get movies of the exercises up online) and watched her walking and took her regular measurements. Mary saw much that she liked.

I was wrong, tho, in thinking she would start moving her out of the braces over summer. Guess I misunderstood her. She was talking to Grace about it and said no one was out yet from the group Gracie was in. Mary told me (I think) that she wants to start moving her out in fall so she doesnt get frustrated. She did talk to Grace to tell her that she has to walk correctly without even thinking about it before she could move her out.

But she was very happy with G's walk and range etc. We are scheduled to see her next on July 5th at 7 a.m. (!) I'm goign to see if we could just come in with the other serial casters during their hours.

Sore Feet Continued

I got in touch with Brigid via email and she suggested not using the knee immobilizer. Since she was complaining about both feet, I dont think this is the problem but I did as she said. And I didnt hear a "peep" from Gracie all nite. But then Gracie swam for over an hour yesterday so she might been exhausted. I will keep the immobilizer off tonite and see what happens as she is not going to do anything physically exhausting - no time for swimming today and weather is cool and cloudy. Brigid is going to join us at our PT with Mary to see whats going on.

Sore feet

Gracie has been waking up over the last two or three nights complaining about sore feet. I take off her knee immobilizer and brace and rub both her feet. I put the brace back on but not the immobilizer. Then she falls back asleep. I did not pay much attention the first night so do not remember when it occurred so I can match her day's activities with her pain. But yesterday she spent maybe an hour in the park but other than that nothing out of the ordinary. Tho I guess she does walk more when she is not in school. Will keep an eye on this. We see Mary at 4 on Monday for PT and will bring the night brace with us.
